# Install Hyperion

Hyperion supports various platforms for installation, as package or portable .zip.

# Requirements

# Supported Systems

  • Raspberry Pi (See also HyperBian)
  • Debian 9 | Ubuntu 16.04 or higher
  • Mac OS
  • Windows 10

Please note that some arm devices have limited support in terms of screen capturing

Hyperion will be configured and controlled trough a web interface.

  • Microsoft Edge 14+

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer is not supported

# Install Hyperion

  • Raspberry Pi you can use HyperBian for a fresh start. Or follow the procedure below.
  • We provide installation packages (.deb) to install Hyperion with a single click on Debian/Ubuntu based systems.
  • Mac OSX - currently just a zip file with the binary
  • Windows 10 you can use the .exe file from Release page (opens new window) for a single click installation.

# RaspberryPi

For RaspberryPi with existing Raspberry Pi OS (former Raspbian) we provide a ...Linux-armv[6|7]l.deb file.
Got to the Release page (opens new window), select the desired release and download from the release site the file
Hyperion-release nr-Linux-armv6l.deb for RaspberryPi Ver. 1 or
Hyperion-release nr-Linux-armv7l.deb for RaspberryPi Ver. 2 and higher
Install from commandline by typing
sudo dpkg -i /<path to>/Hyperion-<release nr>-Linux-armv6l.deb for RaspberryPi Ver. 1 or
sudo dpkg -i /<path to>/Hyperion-<release nr>-Linux-armv7l.deb for RaspberryPi Ver. 2 and higher \

sudo apt-get install -f
Hyperion now starts with power up of your RaspberryPi.

# Debian/Ubuntu

For Debian/Ubuntu we provide a .deb file. A one click installation package that does the job for you.
Download the file from the Release page (opens new window)
Install from commandline by typing.
sudo apt install ./Hyperion-2.0.0-Linux-x86_64.deb
Hyperion can be now started from your start menu.

# Fedora

For Fedora we provide a .rpm file. A one click installation package that does the job for you.
Download the file from the Release page (opens new window)
Install from commandline by typing.
sudo dnf install ./Hyperion-2.0.0-Linux-x86_64.rpm
Hyperion can be now started from your start menu.

# Windows 10

For Windows 10 we provide a .exe file. A one click installation package that does the job for you.
Download the file from the Release page (opens new window)
Install by executing the file.
After following the instructions Hyperion can be now started from your start menu.

# Uninstall Hyperion

On Debian/Ubuntu you can remove Hyperion with this command
sudo apt remove hyperion
On Windows 10 Hyperion can be removed using the Windows 10 "Programs and Features" settings.

# Hyperion user data

Hyperion stores user data inside your home directory (folder .hyperion).
